chasing a brighter future for shelter animals

What We Do

FosterSpot provides a seamless, user-friendly management platform tailored to the unique needs of foster programs. Our comprehensive foster ecosystem is designed to help end preventable euthanasia by unleashing the full life-saving potential of fostering.

FosterSpot's platform democratizes access to life-saving technology for foster programs, enabling organizations across the country to save more animals, attract new funding, forge valuable partnerships, enhance community engagement, and improve the lives of both animals and people.

If FosterSpot's platform can mobilize an additional 2% of pet-owning homes to foster just one animal per year, we can help end preventable euthanasia in the United States.

We think that's a goal worth reaching for.

The Short Story

Fostering is the act of temporarily housing a shelter animal in your home, offering them a safe and loving environment while they await adoption. There are two types of foster programs: those run by animal shelters and those run by foster-based rescues that rely solely on networks of foster homes. Foster-based organizations help by pulling homeless animals from crowded shelters or from states with high euthanasia rates and transporting them to safe foster homes. There are approximately 4,915 animal shelters (88% of whom report having a foster program) and 9,514 exclusively foster-based rescues in the United States. What is Fostering?

The Problem

The lack of specialized foster program management software limits foster programs' ability to streamline operations, grow, and maximize their life-saving impact.

We are in the midst of a shelter crisis. Euthanasia is currently at a three-year high.  Given the tools and support they need, foster programs have massive potential to help reverse the shelter crisis.

The Need

In fostering, animals are only half the equation—foster programs need user-friendly management software that seamlessly integrates the intricate processes of foster animal care and foster caregiver coordination.

Existing software supports general shelter and animal management, but none meet the unique needs of foster programs.

this means we don't have an issue of too few homes,  just an issue of distribution!

Foster homes enable rescue organizations to transport animals out of high-risk states and into states where they will be adopted quickly!
